Offsideplus.az gathered that the Baku City Ring Operating Company said that it regrets the cancellation of the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic: “Every opportunity for our race to take place in 2020. we investigated, but despite all our efforts, we realized that this would not be possible. We had to make this decision for the sake of the health and safety of the Azerbaijani people, valuable Formula 1 fans, as well as Formula 1 employees. We will continue to work hard to hold the best race of the season in 2021.”
Although the Azerbaijani Grand Prix was scheduled for June 5-7, it was postponed due to a coronavirus pandemic. So far, the first 8 rounds of the World Cup - Austria (July 3-5, July 10-12), Hungary (July 17-19), Great Britain (July 31-August 2, August 7-9), Spain (August 14-16) , Belgium (August 28-30) and the Italian Grand Prix (September 4-6).
Note that the Grand Prix of Singapore and Japan in 2020 has been canceled.
