Qarabag which has been playing its league home games at the Azerzun Arena has applied to the Professional Football League to use the Tofig Bahramov Stadium for the semi-final Azerbaijan Cup against the winners between Turan Tovuz and Gabala.

In an exclusive chat with the Director of Technical Football in the PFL Elgiz Abbasov, he confirmed that Qarabag made the “request” and the PFL has done all necessary things to see that the stadium is ready for use.

“Qarabag will play it’s home games of the Azerbaijan Cup at the Tofig Bahramov Stadium. They requested this and PFL went to inspect the pitch and has granted their request. The turf is okay and all facilities are ready, so they can host their opponents there. We inspected the facilities a few days ago and we will inspect it again to be sure nothing goes wrong,” Elgiz said to Offsideplus.az.

It could be recalled that Qarabag hosted Zira FC in a friendly game at the Tofig Bahramov stadium and everything looked set as the turf is in a better condition at the moment.

Qarabag will play the winner of the tie between First Division side, Turan Tovuz and Premier League club Gabala on February 1-2/6-7.
