Offsidepluz.az reports that the pre-match ceremony was initiated by the Professional Football League in order to honour Kamal Umudlu who took part in the 44-day Nagorno-Karabakh War. After then, the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played before the game commenced. Sabail lost to league leaders Neftchi (1-3) in the 14th round of the Azerbaijani Premier League.
