According to the UEFA, Turkish football player Merih Demiral was fined 2 games, and England national team member Jude Bellingham was fined 20,000 euros.

Offsideplus.az reminds that both violations occurred during the 1/8 final games of the European Championship. Bellingham behaved obscenely in the match against Slovakia, and Demiral showed a "grey wolf" sign after scoring a goal in the game against Austria.

So, given that one of the players showed the national symbol and the other showed an unethical hand gesture, how accurate are the decisions? If they claim that the actions of both players have different meanings, how can this affect UEFA's decisions?

We contacted sports lawyer Farid Hagverdiyev about the issue. F. Hagverdiyev stated in his statement to our website:

"The issue with Merih Demiral is completely different. There is a prohibition in the Disciplinary Code that any gesture or words that are not compatible with football, are provocative in nature, are provocative in any religious, political, racial, or football-related manner, and are strictly prohibited. The "Bozgurd" sign is also ideological. As it is considered a symbol, a disciplinary case has been opened for Jud Bellingham. As for the players justifying themselves, this can be taken into account during the defense, "grey wolf". is known as, it is strictly forbidden to show it in the game, and probably both players will be punished."
