Three more members of the Azerbaijani national team, who participated in the prestigious competition with seven athletes, climbed on the tatami, Offsideplus.az reports. Two of them reached the final.

Elmar Gasimov defeated Rafael Buzakari (Brazil) in the 1/16 final. In the second match, our representative lost to Israeli Peter Palchik and stopped the fight.
Zelim Kotsoyev, who started the competition from the 1/16 final, advanced to the quarterfinals with victories over Ramadan Dervish (Egypt) and Guham Cho (South Korea). The athlete, who defeated Canadian Shaddi Elnahas at this stage, also defeated Dutch Simeon Carrina in the semifinals. Reaching the final, Zelim met with Varlam Lipateliani from Georgia in the decisive match and won a silver medal.
Irina Kindzerska, who started the women's +78 kg 1/8 final, first defeated Yasmin Grabowski (Germany) and then Hayun Kim (South Korea). Our judoka defeated Hortens Vanessa Mballa Atangana (Cameroon) in the semifinal. In the final, Irina will face Roman Dicco from France.
On the first day of the competition, Nijat Shikhalizade, Orkhan Safarov (both 66 kg), Leyla Aliyeva and Aisha Gurbanli (both 48 kg) failed on the tatami.
It should be noted that a total of 399 judokas from 21 countries, including 215 men and 184 women, are competing in the prestigious international competition "World Masters", a series of world judo tours.
