Offsideplus.az presents this interview:
- You won your first victory of the current season by defeating "Sabah" at home in the VIII round of the Premier League of Azerbaijan. First of all, could you comment on this match ...
- Both teams needed 3 points. It's just that we believed in victory more and were eager. We overcame the opponent in all components of the game and won. "Sabah" and "Gabala" are not the same level team in terms of budget. Our budget is very low, and the opponent's staff is very large. You can draw 3 different "11s" from the players there. But they can't show team play. Football is like a team fist here. In "Sabah" only individual game comes to the fore, there is no team game. We prepare well for every match.
- A long time after moving to Gabala, you appeared in the starting lineup ...
- I believed that the match I played would be won. I also told the head coach that victory can only come with me (laughs). Everyone knows that I came to Gabala not to sit on the bench, but to play. My desire is to create unity in the team. Because I can do it. I don't want to sit outside and spend my day. I endured 7 games. If it continued like this, I would leave. I was about to leave the team. One day before the game, I talked to the head coach Elmar Bakhshiyev and expressed my opinion that I should play, and so on. I feel this power in myself, I consider myself worthy of the main staff. No one knows better than me how much I will benefit the team. Thankfully, he listened to my opinion and brought me back to the starting lineup. Everyone saw the result. I believe that our victories will continue.
- What did Elmar Bakhshiyev tell you after the match?
- He did not say anything. I looked at his face, how are you, how are you? It can't be bad, after all. He said it was great. It had no wings to fly (laughs). Elmar and I have been teammates for a long time. Our attitude was completely different. After leaving Zira, I came to Gabala just for that. He personally said that. Javid should be in my team. When I didn't play, I got angry.
- Some time ago you said in an interview that you do not know how much your salary is in Gabala. How about now?
- I know approximately. The amount is too low (laughs). I'm just here for the sake of the people in Gabala.
- You will face "Keshla" in the next round. What do you expect from that game?
- "Keshla" is like a wounded lion now. They lost to "Qarabag" with the score 1: 6. He has a good staff, he was in the top ranks at the beginning of the championship. I like this team. We will try to win. Gabala deserves to be better. Our potential also allows it. We will do our best.
- What is the goal of the team for this season?
- I understand that Gabala has no goals for this year's budget. This is normal. There must be enough budget for the result. We have many young players. True, we have also involved legionnaires. But it is clear that foreigners are not at the level of their predecessors. Only James Adeniyi would return to the team and emphasize him. We understand each other very well. His arrival is good for us. We will try to take the 3rd or 4th place in the championship.
- You are the son of a martyr. In this sense, as someone who has felt the war the most and lived deeply, how would you describe what has happened since September 27?
- I was very happy on the day the war started. Back in July, I also took part in a rally in support of the Army in Baku. I was there until 2 o'clock at night. That is, I started the struggle from there. As an Azerbaijani, I am proud of our country, our people, our President. People's love for the Supreme Commander-in-Chief has grown even more. After seeing their interviews with foreign journalists and their consistent answers to provocative questions, we can say that we have won every position. May God save the lives of our soldiers, I wish mercy to the martyrs. Land cannot be liberated without martyrs. True, we would not want any family to hear bad news. We hope that the place is a paradise. We are a really great nation. We just forgot about it a bit.
- If necessary, will you go to the front?
- I enlisted in the Army 3-4 months ago. I'm ready to fight. We were three children when my father volunteered for the war. My older brother was 7 years old. I also have 3 children. I told them that if necessary, I would go to war. That is, you can shake your hand away from me. I am ready to give my life for an inch of land. Meanwhile, the Jabrayil region, my native village of Garajalli, was also liberated. 27 years of longing are over, I am very happy. I look forward to seeing those places again and being there.
- It is said that the president of the "Gabala" club Fariz Najafov is also on the front line ...
- Yes, that's right. As soon as the war began, he went to the front. I haven't talked to him, but I know. Let's not go too deep, just say that he is actively involved in the fighting. You know what a heart he has. He is from Agdam. If there are such sons, our Motherland will never be trampled by the enemy.
- How does this step of the club president affect the players?
- Obviously, first of all it is the Motherland. True, we want to play and win when we appear. But before the match, we all think only of the homeland. Every day, every hour, we wait for the news, I wonder what good news will be this time. Even when Mr. President appeals, we change the training time. We watch the speech of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief carefully and welcome him when he announces the names of the liberated regions or villages. When the name of the country is mentioned, there can be no other conversation. Football is also our job, it should not be interrupted. But the main thing is our homeland.
