In the first round of the Magnus Carlsen Invitational, Mammadyarov met with the Armenian representative Levon Aronian, Offsideplus.az reports.
The 36-year-old grandmaster, playing with black pieces, defeated his opponent. Aronian surrendered on the 27th March.
Rajabov started the tournament with a draw. In the first round, he shared the points with Dutch chess player Anish Giri.
