The statement came from the head coach of the Montenegrin national team Faruk Hadzibegic, speaking about tomorrow's match with the Azerbaijani national team in the group stage of the UEFA League of Nations, Offsideplus.az reports.
Speaking at a press conference today, the 63-year-old said: "I will not change my mind as long as we do not secure the first place mathematically. Defender Stefan Savic, one of our leading players, will not take part due to suspension. I trust all my players equally. Savic's absence is a serious loss. But there are other good players in our team. Stefan is a player with leadership skills. I hope we will not feel his absence on the field tomorrow."
Hadzibegic said they will play against a good team and take the match seriously: "Although we are the group leader with 6 points, this is not a big advantage for us, because a possible defeat tomorrow could complicate our situation. Thus, 3 teams can have 6 points. We have to wait for Luxembourg to lose. So far, I am satisfied with the results. But we have not secured the first place mathematically. "
The Bosnian expert asked the players to concentrate: "Azerbaijan scored a goal against Luxembourg in the minority and won Cyprus on the road. It is a respectable team. We will do everything to win. I approach this match as if we will face the world champion."
The Montenegro-Azerbaijan match, which will take place tomorrow at the Gradski Stadium in Podgorica, will start at 17:00 Baku time.
