The head coach of the Azerbaijan national team has been officially announced.

Offsideplus.az reports with reference to the official website of AFFA that the well-known expert Fernando Santus has been appointed the head coach of the national team. A long-term contract with Santosh is planned.

The statement said:

"Taking into account that the process will not be short-term, but will cover a certain period, the goal of forming a competitive team and a successful performance in the qualifying stage of EURO 2028 has been set before the Portuguese specialist."
