During the meeting, Rahimov stressed that since September 27, the positions of our military units and residential areas have been subjected to heavy artillery fire by Armenia.
He said that the Azerbaijani Army had already liberated part of our occupied lands by conducting successful counter-offensive operations against the enemy. "Civilian objects and private houses have fallen into disrepair. This act proves once again that Armenia is a terrorist country."
Noting that Azerbaijan started the Great Patriotic War to liberate historical lands from enemies and return IDPs there, Rahimov said that our country was on the right path and was waging a just war demanding its rights.
Then the MPK President informed the guest about the activities of the committee, its achievements, preparations for the IBSA JUDO GRAND PRIX BAKU 2021 to be held in Baku in May 2021 and the Tokyo 2020 Summer Paralympic Games next year.
The President of the Committee also noted that the Children's Paralympic Movement was established in Azerbaijan in 2013 to involve children with disabilities in sports, and said that every year the Paralympians leave the movement and successfully represent our country in various international competitions.
Rahimov noted that the NPC closely cooperates with the Japanese Paralympic Committee. At the same time, the President of the Committee said that the Azerbaijani Paralympians will prepare for the Tokyo 2020 Summer Paralympic Games within the "Host town" program to be held in Shika, Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan. He noted that a Memorandum of Understanding was signed during a meeting at the Shika City Hall on February 24 and thanked the Japanese people for the conditions created.
Noting that Azerbaijan pays great attention and care to social programs for the disabled, Rahimov said that for this purpose the NPC applied for membership in the International Abilimpi Federation and the Abilimpi Federation was established in Azerbaijan after the relevant decision on membership.
In turn, Ambassador Wada Junichi stressed the importance of his country's Paralympic and Abilimpi values, and stressed the importance of establishing relations with the Paralympic Committee and the International Abilim Olympic Federation in Tokyo, Japan, and supported joint work in various fields within social programs. At the same time, the ambassador praised the cooperation between the NPC and the Japanese Paralympic Committee. He noted that the preparation of Azerbaijani Paralympians for the Tokyo 2020 Summer Paralympic Games in Shika, Japan shows the high level of friendly relations between the two countries.
Then the sides discussed a number of issues related to future cooperation.
The meeting was also attended by Secretary General of the National Paralympic Committee Kamal Mammadov and Vice President of the Azerbaijan National Paralympic Federation Javad Gasimov.
