On January 4, 2015, all Atletico fans, young and old, gathered at the Vicente Calderon Stadium. Fernando Torres, who played for Atletico in the 1930s, returned to his former club. From the very beginning, the fans called this handsome young man "El Nino" - "Baby" and rejoiced in Torres' first goal against Atletico in 8 years. This goal against Real Madrid deprived the "King's Club" of the Copa del Rey.
Fernando Torres has made 281 La Liga appearances throughout his career, scoring 103 goals for Madrid.
January 4, 2016. Zidane became the head of the "King's Club".
On January 4, 2016, it was announced that Zinedine Zidane was the new head coach of Real Madrid. A few weeks later, fans of the "King's Club" felt that the 48-year-old specialist was the top coach after the 0: 5 defeat over "Deportivo". Zidane, who is heading to the Champions League with his team, is aiming for the La Liga title with Real Madrid for the second time this season.
January 6, 2013. Xabi Prieto's hat-trick did not prevent Real's victory.
On January 6, 2013, Real hosted Real Sociedad at home. After coach Mourinho did not put goalkeeper Iker Casillas in the starting XI and Karim Benzema opened the scoring in the second minute, one would think that Real would win as usual. But instead, football fans faced a very dramatic match. The answer came from Pryeta to Benzema in the 9th minute. Five minutes after Sami Khedira's goal in the 35th minute, Xabi scored the equalizer. In the second half, Cristiano Ronaldo took action. The Portuguese star, who doubled in 2 minutes, responded by signing a hat-trick Pryeto. However, when no other goal was scored at the end of the game, "Real" rejoiced in a difficult victory with a score of 4: 3 at home.
On that day, Real Madrid lost to Deportivo 2-0. The event featured two Brazilians: Ronaldo Nazario, the winner of the World Cup and the Golden Ball, and Marcelo, an 18-year-old newcomer to the club. Roberto Carlos, who soon returned from injury, regained the position he was replaced by Marcelo. Although Real lost that game, Marcelo has been defending the title for more than 14 years. The defender, who has won five La Liga titles with the club, is now far ahead of both Ronaldo and Roberto Carlos in trophies.
