According to the website of the European Shooting Championship, a statement by the Organizing Committee said the cancellation is in connection with the pandemic in Finland.
The Confederation Presidium will discuss rescheduling the race. If it is not possible to hold the European Championship, the quota places for the Olympics will be distributed according to the European ranking as of May 31, 2020 within the classification system approved by the International Olympic Committee.
It should be noted that at present, Azerbaijani athlete Ruslan Lunyov is in 18th place in the European ranking in the 10-meter pistol shooting with 178 points. In the women's (rifle) Jala Bayramova is in 189th place with 2 points. Nigar Nasirova (pistol) is 17th with 169 points. This place does not qualify them for the Olympics.
It should be noted that Ruslan Lunyov became the European champion in the 25/50 meter shooting in September 2019 in Bologna, Italy. He won a gold medal in the 25-meter dash and received a license for the Olympics.
