Azerbaijan was represented in archery for the first time in the history of the Summer Olympic Games.
34-year-old Yaylagul Ramazanova joined the competition on July 25 and took 39th place, having scored 647 points out of 730 possible points in the qualifying round. Thus, Yaylagul qualified for the 1/32 final stage on July 30.
It should be noted that there was a small person who helped Yaylagül in the race. Our athlete went to Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games pregnant.
Yaylagul Ramazanova faced Chinese An Qixuan in the 1/32 final. Since the main time of the match ended with a score of 5:5, the winner should be chosen who made the most accurate shot. Chinli shot his arrow in a 9-point range, while Yaylagul advanced to the 1/16 finals with a 10-point shot.
Unfortunately, our representative lost to Michel Kroppen in the next round with a score of 2:6 and stopped the fight. However, Yaylagul, who represented our country in archery at the Olympics for the first time, won 2 stages and went down in the history of Azerbaijan, will remain in the memory of each of us.
