Fofana arrived in Baku a few days ago and has resumed training with his new team as they prepare for the second part of the championship.

The former Norschellan's U-19 player granted an exclusive interview to Offsideplus.az where spoke about his decision to switch to Sabah FC, how he is going to adapt to the team and contribute to the success of the club this season.

Here is an excerpt of the interview:

Offsideplus.az: What was your first impression of Azerbaijan before you arrived?

Tiemoko Fofana: I knew I was going to a new country and to face a new challenge. I’m always ready and willing and the idea is that I want to make a positive use out of this short period of time I will spend in Baku.

 

Offsideplus.az: What is actually your objective with Sabah?

Tiemoko Fofana: My objective at the moment is to make history for myself and also for the club.fofana

Offsideplus.az: Sabah is currently occupying the bottom of the log. Do you think you can help the team go top?

Tiemoko Fofana Nothing is impossible. I believe we can achieve something better. I have a strong belief that we can go top and if all my teammates believe the same way, then we can make history.

 

Offsideplus.az: How do you hope to cope and get acquainted with the people, a new language, food and environment?

Tiemoko Fofana: For the moment the environment is not a big problem for me. And also to get used to the people and the food is not an issue because, to be honest, I don’t have problems when it comes to food. Eating is one of my passions, but for the language, it is going to take some time for me to get used to it.

 

Offsideplus.az: How were you welcomed and received by your teammates?

Tiemoko Fofana: To be honest they welcomed me very well. I wasn’t expecting that, they made me feel like I have been here for a long time.

 

Offsideplus.az: As a young professional footballer, do you think the Azerbaijan Premier League is an ideal championship for you to show yourself to the world?

Tiemoko Fofana: Why not, everything is possible in life. I just need to stay focused, work hard every day on the pitch and off the pitch. It doesn't matter whether it is a game or training, I will try to be better every day. Most importantly enjoy myself and have fun.

 

Offsideplus.az: Are you satisfied with the facilities you met in Sabah?

Tiemoko Fofana: I have been impressed so far, to be honest. I can’t really complain. I’m just grateful for this new challenge and all I can say is “ ALHAMDOULILAH”
