Sabail player Rauf Aliyev said this while talking about the return match against Sumgayit in the quarterfinals of the Azerbaijan Cup, Offsideplus.az reports.
The 32-year-old striker said that referee Orkhan Mammadov made wrong decisions: "He broke the team with wrong decisions. The penalty against us was a wrong decision. But we were not given a clear penalty. His decisions affected the whole team. There were even episodes when he did not speak. The player also protested. We also had a problem. We were not well-tuned for the game. But the opponent was encouraged after the penalty kick. We knew it would be more difficult for us. In short, I can say that it will be a mistake once. It's better if the judge doesn't whistle again."
Aliyev also said that he did not see the episode when Sabail coach Vugar Mammad pushed the sideline referee Javanshir Yusifov: "Those who know Vugar know that he is a very calm person. I do not believe that there will be a big problem then."
It should be noted that the match ended with a 2: 1 victory of Sumgayit. The representative of the "youth city", who lost to his opponent 0: 1 in the first match, reached the semifinals because he scored more goals on the road.
