According to Offsideplus.az, all four athletes who joined the fight lost.

In the 66 kg weight category, Nijat Shikhalizade lost in the 1/16 finals to Denis Vieru from Moldova and Orkhan Safarov to Barukh Shmailov from Israel.

Aisha Gurbanli and Leyla Aliyeva (both 48 kg), who started the women's competition in the 1/16 finals, won their first matches. Gurbanli defeated the Turkish representative Gulkader Shanturku, and Aliyeva defeated the Egyptian athlete Aziza Cakir. 

However, the female judokas, who lost in the next round, stopped the fight. Aliyeva lost the duel with Julia Figueroa from Spain and Funa Tonaki from Gurbanli, Japan.

It should be noted that Azerbaijan is represented by 7 athletes in the national competition. The World Masters will end on January 13. Zelim Kotsoyev, Elmar Gasimov and Irina Kindzerska will perform on the same day.
