A chess player invited to the national team He should take part in the strengthening of intra-team relations and business atmosphere, and consider the common goal above his personal principle. The FIDE rating of the chess player is taken into account in the formation of the national team. Candidates for the national team are discussed with the members of the Executive Committee of the Azerbaijan Chess Federation final decision is made.

It is reported that Shahriyar Mammadyarov, Rauf Mammadov, Nijat Abasov, Aydin Suleymanli and Muhammad Muradli were invited to the men's national team this year, and a reserve chess player was also selected:
